Far be it from me to criticize how people that were here before I was use (or do not use) our own journal; however, I think it's a potentially useful tool, letting us post without having to worry about it being taken out of context or seen by mass numbers of random people who won't understand what we mean on Tumblr.

So, a few thoughts for our journal, in bullet point format.

It would be nice if we could primarily move most of our community interaction and post-reading time over to Dreamwidth rather than Tumblr, as it's a bit more controlled, less chaotic, and less prone to slapfights and dogpiling. I don't know if that's terrible feasible, but it's something to work on.
The change in hosts and host fronting time over the last year and a half or so has been unusual, especially for those who were here before I got here. For anyone who missed it: we had five hosts for a while, then six once I showed up, and more recently, Tanix quit, because being a host was bad for him, he hated it, and it stressed him and everyone else out. As a result, some of our thoughts and priorities have shifted, like...
Fucking hell we want to transition. It's just not safe where we live right now, but hopefully, things will get better and we can actually go on hormones and make this happen. Tanix wasn't so sure he wanted to do it, and he was the "default" "main" host for a long time--but now he's not a host, and the rest of us are all men, as are the cohosts (to some extent. Khadgar is complicated) and I miss my beard. How am I supposed to stroke my beard while thinking if I don't have one? Ridiculous. I look very silly when I try.
We need to sit down and sort out every member's specific origin because it's starting to get complicated. With my surety that I busted in from elsewhere (and Anduin tumbled through as well), Blame being an external entity, Vazera arriving from another system. others clearing Forming in here but with connections to Outside, and everything with Andre and the tower... we need to do some housecleaning and maybe write something about it. It might be interesting to other people.
We've spent a lot of time insisting that Tanix isn't the owner of the body and isn't the default, but despite our best efforts, it seems that he was treated that way by others and even most of the system for a long time. That had started to falter by the time I got here, and I seem to have stepped into those shoes to some extent, since I started fronting in September of 2024 and haven't actually left the front since. Everyone thinks I'm crazy for it, but I just don't get tired like they do. I'm not sure why.
We have GOT to figure out what the hell is going on with Jim, why he's not forming right or talking, and why we can't find him most of the time. Lor'themar's arrival helped him out but not as much as we would have liked. No one's sure why he's been kicking around for a couple of months with only a few blurry things to say, but that's how it's been, and we're all kind of stressed about it.
Moving off of Simply Plural has been a real bitch. We've settled on PluralSpace, at least for now. We like it quite a lot but it's taking some time to adjust.

A general introduction to us

Welcome, internet wanderer. The most likely way that you have stumbled upon this account is through alterhuman spaces: predominantly our work in the Fictionkind Dreamwidth community and my panel at Othercon 2022. If not, and you do not know what any of those things are: this may be quite confusing for you.

We are the Draconic Wizard Workshop, a plural system consisting primarily of fictives, most of which are sourced from Vampire: the Masquerade. Our non-fictive members tend to be alterhuman in other ways (other than just plurality, of course), and as such, we each have some level of interest in the community at large. The primary two fronters and posters in this system are Tanix (the host, a dragon and non-fictive) and myself, Goratrix (co-host, vampire and fictive). I run the Fictionkind Dreamwidth, a community for any and all beings out there with fiction-based identities (fictionkin, fictives, fictionlinks, hearthomes, etc) that they take seriously, that are willing to discuss such identities with like-minded people with no fear of harassment or judgement.

Currently, we are working on a personal website, where we will list introductions from and information about each member of the system, as well as any essays or other writings that we have done. Once that is finished, we will link it here for your perusal.

Rise in Revolution Masterpost

Hi there! RiR is going to be completely rewritten in the future. This writing is very old and not very good, so I would honestly recommend staying away unless you're here to reread for nostalgia! I wrote this in 2016/2017, when I was a lot younger than I am now, with a hell of a lot less writing experience. If you're interested in reading something that I've written more recently, shoot me a PM, I'll probably have something!

Rise in Revolution (RiR) is an original story that I am writing, placed in a scifi/fantasy kind of setting. Kaldriel, a world of magic, was invaded by aliens twenty years before the start of the story. They took over, set up a supercomputer called the Mainframe to run the planet, and left.

This story uses both original characters of mine and characters based off of my friends. Every single character that I did not create was used with permission from the friend in question- they helped to design their character to some degree and agreed to allow me to write them. Note that these characters may not behave completely like the people they are based on: these characters have had different experiences, backgrounds, and may not even be human. Just because character x falls in love with character y does not mean that those two people necessarily are in a relationship, nor does character a hating character b mean that those people don't get along.

Monstrous Masterpost

Hello!
You're probably here if you're an old fan of the series, or you just tripped over this. In the latter case, let me warn you:
This is... not very good.
I wouldn't really recommend reading any of this, since I wrote it back in 2015/2016 when I was a lot younger and much, much worse than I am today. It's a long fic, written with a lot of love, audacity, and determination, but not much else. Some elements of the story--mostly part three, Fated--are being repurposed for an entirely original piece, but the rest, well...
I'm leaving this up for the benefit of old readers, predominantly. If you're returning to this, it's because it meant something to you, which I'm honored by, and I would never take that from you. Thank you so much for your support over the years. <3

Reminder that Monstrous is part one, followed by Residual and then Fated.

NOTE: This is a masterpost of EVERY CHAPTER of the ENTIRE SERIES. Read the chapters in order, and note that as time goes on, the quality improves- particularly between Monstrous and Residual. You'll have to bear with me through the older chapters as they can be a bit difficult.
